Call for 2018-19 Pawsey Internship Projects

The Pawsey Supercomputing Centre is now opening a call for student internship projects.

Over a 10 week period between November 2018 and February 2019, Pawsey will host a group of talented undergraduate students (3rd & 4th year and honours students) to participate in projects related to high-performance computing.

Project proposals can be submitted by any Pawsey researcher, but the project must utilise Pawsey resources and demonstrate a focus in one (or more) of the following areas:

  • High Performance Computing
  • Cloud computing
  • Data analytics
  • Large scale data storage
  • Machine learning
  • High-speed interconnects/communication
  • Scientific visualisation

Selected students will receive a $7600 stipend (funded by Pawsey and managed by CSIRO) for the 10-week internship.  Interstate projects are strongly encouraged, and Pawsey has funds to help support some travel costs.

Pawsey staff will work with researchers to identify appropriate student candidates for accepted projects.  Successful project PIs are welcome to nominate suitable students to work on their projects.

Projects can come from any research field and should be submitted before September 14th.

We will accept late proposals, however, the sooner they are in, the more visibility students will have prior to their deadline for student applications.
