Celebrating 10 years of GovHack at Pawsey

A cool night in August kicked off the GovHack Connections event at the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre.

As a sponsor of GovHack 2019, Pawsey hosted the Connections event to celebrate their milestone ten years of operation and inform hackers of the challenges they will face over the hackathon weekend.

What is a GovHack?

A GovHack is a festival of ideas, using government agency open data to solve a problem challenging hackers that will create a better place for our communities.

Using the open data, hackers have 46 hours to create a project, design a proof of concept and create a video pitch on the problem they’re addressing.

Although the challenges will be released the night before the hackathon, the organisers gave hackers some sneak peeks at the WA challenges:

  • Youth
  • Revitalisation
  • Safety

GovHack WA will run across six cities across Western Australia and New Zealand over 46 hours from September 6-8, 2019.

It’s not too late to register as a team or attend – https://govhack.org/competition/australia/wa/.
