Pawsey Summer Internships: Applications Now Open for 2025/26!

Are you a 2nd or 3rd year undergrad, Honours, Master’s by research or PhD student at an Australian university? Ready to challenge yourself, gain hands-on research experience, and get paid to work on real-world science and tech projects?

The 2025/26 Pawsey Summer Internship Program is now open for applications!

This 10-week paid internship is your opportunity to join a national program that supports students in developing practical skills in supercomputing, data science, and research communication. Whether you’re aiming for a career in science, engineering, or data-driven industries, this program is designed to help you grow your experience and confidence.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Pawsey intern, you will:

  • Work full-time for 10 weeks (24 Nov 2025 – 13 Feb 2026) with a two-week holiday break
  • Be paid while working on an exciting research or technical project
  • Join a mostly remote program, with some in-person opportunities depending on the project
  • Receive expert guidance from Pawsey staff and researchers
  • Take part in induction and training sessions on supercomputing, data management, and science communication
  • Collaborate with mentors and peers, and be part of a friendly intern community
  • Create a final poster, report, and video to showcase your work
  • Present your achievements at our wrap-up event, Pawsey Friday (13 Feb 2026)
