Internships: Call for Projects Form

Pawsey Supercomputing Centre Summer Internship project application
  • Supervisor and Project Information

  • Will the primary and/or additional supervisor be present and available throughout the duration of the Programme (Late November 2022 – Mid February 2023)?
  • You can select from Undergraduate students (2nd Year, 3rd Year, Honours) AND/OR Graduate students (Masters, PhD). Check the student/intern types you plan to engage on your project.
  • This question is REQUIRED IF you plan to engage an UNDERGRADUATE intern/s. Select the amount you will pay for your intern*. (*Estimated costings)
  • This question is REQUIRED IF you plan to engage a GRADUATE student/s. 100% of the funding for a GRADUATE student/s will be paid by the project. A contract, if required, will be between the institution and the Graduate Student.
  • If possible please specify a FOR code
  • Please provide a short project description, including specific project outcomes.
    Include 2-4 milestones that you plan to use to guide student progress.

  • Please provide a detailed 10-week schedule for the project, highlighting student learning opportunities & tasks.

    NOTE: Each week will have a 1-hour Student status sharing activity


    Week 1: Onboarding, Pawsey core training. Supervisors to provide intros to projects.

    Week 2:

    Week 3:

    Week 4: Scientific communication training – 60 min

    Week 5:

    Week 6: Poster creation training – 60 min

    Week 7:

    Week 8:

    Week 9: Poster Draft 1 due.

    Week 10: Poster due, poster judging. Pawsey Showcase & poster presentations. Program finishes.

    Week 12: Pawsey Internship final Reports & Videos due.

  • IF you plan to work with a GRADUATE student/s, you must nominate them. The student/s must complete a student application.
  • IF you have a preferred UNDERGRADUATE student/s, you must nominate them. The student must complete a student application.

    If you do NOT have a nominated Undergraduate student, Pawsey will present you with students matching your skill & location requirements for you to interview/select.
