Join us as AWS Quantum Specialists introduce quantum simulators and gate-based quantum computers, before turning to more advanced topics.

This workshop includes presentation as well as hands-on practice with AWS Braket.

This is a free, online event.

Who is this training for?

  • Research Scientists, Data Scientists, and individuals who use HPC and other computational methods for your domain/s
  • ALL domains of research, including but not limited to: physics, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, security, genomics, radio astronomy, etc.

Agenda:

  • Introduce quantum computing, Amazon Braket service, quantum simulators and gate-based quantum computers
  • Introduce Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA) and Braket Hybrid Jobs
  • Closer Look at QuEra Aquila and the new gate-based device from IonQ – Aria

Pre-Requisites:

  • Basic knowledge of the Python programming language
  • Desirable: Some familiarity with gates and circuits

Meet your trainer!

Brajesh Gupt is a Quantum Applied Scientist at AWS. Before joining AWS he held Research Associate position at Texas Advanced Computing Center at the University of Texas at Austin and Theoretical Physicist position at Xanadu Quantum Technologies, Inc. Toronto. Brajesh received his PhD from Louisiana State University, followed by a three-year postdoc fellowship at Pennsylvania State University, University Park. His interests include NISQ algorithms, design and simulation of quantum circuit using HPC, as well as benchmarking and application of various types of quantum hardware. He has delivered over 35 research talks and organized and delivered 4 quantum computing workshops.
