Pawsey Uptake Project: Accelerating Impact

An Invitation to Australian Researchers to Propel Scientific Impact

The Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre invites Australian-based research groups to join the Pawsey Uptake Project call. This initiative will provide teams with access to dedicated Pawsey experts, helping accelerate their scientific breakthroughs.

The call is an initiative to maximise the impact of research utilising Pawsey’s cutting-edge infrastructure.

The call invites Australian-based researchers employed by universities, government agencies, or research institutions to submit expressions of interest.

Successful projects will receive dedicated support from Pawsey staff, up to 0.20 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) over six months. This collaboration will focus on enhancing the research team’s utilisation of Pawsey infrastructure, with Pawsey expertise tailored to the specific project requirements.

The Pawsey Uptake Projects aim to expand research horizons by facilitating the scale and scope of scientific investigations while also enhancing efficiency and performance across computational, visualisation, and data management workflows. Additionally, the initiative encourages the adoption of emerging technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing to push the boundaries of research.

Projects under the Pawsey Uptake initiative may encompass various activities, including but not limited to:

  • Feasibility studies and benchmarking of scientific software.
  • Optimisation and parallelisation of scientific codes.
  • Workflow optimisation for efficient resource utilization.
  • Managing complex data ingestion, analysis, or sharing workflows.
  • Developing workflows to visualise complex datasets effectively.
  • Implementation of new technologies and protocols.
  • Integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence tools.

Researchers are encouraged to submit their expressions of interest and propel their scientific endeavours with Pawsey’s support.
